1. Botox does not work for volume loss

Botox is a muscle relaxant that temporarily relaxes an overactive muscle. Botox is most commonly used for forehead lines, frown lines and crow's feet. Botox calms these overactive muscles, so that excess facial lines are no longer formed. So let yourself be good recommend with our cosmetic doctors about what best suits your needs!

2. Botox is not immediately visible, but fillers are!

One difference between botox and fillers is that the result with botox is not immediately visible. After the treatment, the botox should first work properly and you will only start to see the difference after 48 hours. After about two weeks, the muscle is optimally blocked and you will see the end result of the botox treatment. It is good to go for a check-up after these two weeks so that it can be seen whether the result you want has been achieved.

Bee fillers you'll see a difference right after the treatment! Most fillers are based on hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance that immediately provides extra volume. Fillers are used to fill in more static wrinkles, or to beautify facial contours and add volume. With this filler, the face gets a hydration boost and a younger appearance! This is what we all want, right?

3. Fillers for various purposes

There are many different types of fillers that are used for different purposes. The different fillers each have their own consistency, which allows you to simulate different types of tissue. This includes fat tissue to fill sunken cheeks and bone tissue to mimic a tighter jawline. Many people think that fillers are actually just for filling the lips are intended, but nothing could be further from the truth. Fillers are therefore ideally suited for reducing puffiness under the eyes, tightening the jawline or highlighting the cheekbones. At Van Lennep Kliniek, we love a natural end result. 4. The effect of botox and fillers is temporary

For both botox, as fillers, they are broken down by the body itself over time. In botox, the active substances break down a bit faster compared to fillers. If you will enjoy a botox treatment for about 3-6 months, then it is time to make a follow-up appointment. Fillers last a little longer, around 10-14 months. After that, the result slowly decreases. So you don't have to worry about permanent injectables. In fact, permanent fillers have not been allowed to be used for cosmetic purposes since 2015, as they involved long-term complications. At Van Lennep Kliniek, our cosmetic doctors only use temporary fillers.

5. Botox can be used for multiple purposes

A big misunderstanding about botox is that it is only used for cosmetic purposes, but nothing could be further from the truth! Botox is a good solution for excessive sweating, headaches, downward corners of the mouth, drooping eyebrows and even teeth grinding.
